Xinhao “Violet” Lu

Xinhao "Violet" Lu is an exceptionally new director. He was an athlete in high school and had trained for six years. After studying finance at Tianjin University of Finance and Economics for his undergraduate degree, his unstoppable passion and love for films made him realize that storytelling is his only destination. After graduation, he wrote, directed, and edited two short films to successfully apply for admission to the American Film Institute. His application film Reunion Night was selected for the first "Mao" International Youth Film Week and nominated for Best Short Film and Best Cinematography. He has made four short films in two years and gradually built his strength. He believes in the power of film to bring more beautiful changes to this complicated world. He is currently a directing fellow at the American Film Institute, following Rob Spera, director of the American series Criminal Minds.
